Kenneth C. Gibbs Sr

Kenneth C. Gibbs Sr., 76, of Watertown died Friday May 28, 2010 at home.

Born May 18, 1934 in Torrington to the late Charles and Hazel (French) Gibbs he had been a longtime resident of the Marion section of Southington.

Mr. Gibbs worked for the former Clark Bros. Bolt Co., Milldale for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, watching old movies and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Gibbs) Scinto of Wallingford, his son Kenneth C. Gibbs Jr. of Bristol; five grandchildren: Creighton Laribee and wife Stephanie and Justin Laribee and wife Katie all of Waterbury, Adam Laribee of Watertown and Alissa and Jeremy Gibbs both of Bristol; great-grandson, Anthony Laribee; sister Deanna (Gibbs) Orzeck of Meriden; niece Susan (Orzeck) Kubeck of Bethlehem and nephew Michael Orzeck of Meriden. He also leaves his former wife, Ulla Gibbs of Watertown with whom he made his home.

He was pre-deceased by his sister Arlene (Gibbs) Krulicki and his longtime companion Helen (Ellie) Hewitt.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be from 10- 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Ken may be made to the Masonic Home, 22 Masonic Ave., Wallingford, CT 06492.
