Kathleen 'Bette' (Nolan) Sargent, 86, died Monday October 25, 2010 at UCONN Health Center in Farmington. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Sargent.

Born on March 30, 1924 in Hartford to the late John and Sadie (Murack) Nolan, she had been a long-time Southington resident.

Kathleen worked as one of the first telephone operators in t he Hartford Area before she spent the later part of her life as a homemaker. She loved cross-word puzzles, ice-cream and her cat Wally.

She is survived by 2 sons, Joseph Sargent Jr. and his wife Susan of Maryland and Robert Sargent of Southington, and a daughter Kathleen Noury and her husband Dennis of Southington, 4 grandchildren; Matthew Sargent and his wife Meghan, Laura Sargent and Ryan and Kyle Noury and 2 step-granddaughters, Andrea and Amanda Vajda and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her sister, Diane Gokey of Enfield. She was predeceased by her brother John Nolan and sisters; Mary Patricia Anderson and Norma Dixon.

A memorial service will be held on Friday October 29, 2010 at 12 noon at Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
