Karen R. (Kaufman) Grossman, 78, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at MidState Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She had been the devoted wife of Harry Grossman for nearly 58 years.
Karen was born on October 7, 1944 in Chicago, IL to the late Jerome and Evelyn (Kirchilsky) Kaufman and had been a Plantsville resident for over 18 years.
Karen worked as the office manager for her family’s restaurants alongside her husband and brother for many years. She enjoyed shopping and finding the best bargains, camping, boating and collecting cookbooks. Most of all, Karen loved her family and adored her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Harry, Karen is survived by 3 children, Traci Selinske and husband Scott of Plantsville, Suzanne Shamleffer and husband Mark of Southington, and Brian Grossman and wife Lynne of Milford, MA and 6 grandchildren; Mallie, Casey, Ty and Sarah Selinske and Chayse and Teague Shamleffer. She is also survived by her brother, Floyd Kaufman and wife Judy of Lindenhurst, NY, many nephews and her dear friends, Stan and Eileen Paulauskas of Beacon Falls and Frank and Rose Pepe of Plantsville.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington.
