Joseph F. Sollock, 87, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday February 22, 2014.
Born in Czechoslovakia on September 13, 1926 to the late Frank and Judith (Bielsky) Sollock, he had been a longtime Plantsville resident.
Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Marlin Rockwell in Plainville. Joseph was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas Church and member of the American Legion Post 72. He enjoyed gardening, playing pool at the Calendar house and fishing and boating in Long Island Sound.
He is survived by his sister Theresa Zolnik of Plantsville, his brother Thomas Sollock and his wife Joan of Plantsville, his sister Aggie Jagos and her husband Paul of Forestville and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday April 10, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the Mass from 9 - 10:00 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
