Joseph Ray Landry, 84, died Tuesday November 16, 2010 at the HCC at Bradley Memorial in Southington. He was the beloved husband of Priscilla (Garrett) Landry for almost 61 years.
Born on March 11, 1926 in Gardner, MA to the late Arthur and Adeline (Lorrett) Landry and moving to Southington from Bristol, CT in 1957, he had been a long-time Southington resident.
Joseph served his country in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War-4 Battle Stars awarded. He worked as a machinist for many years at Pratt and Whitney in Southington. Mr. Landry was a loyal member of the First Baptist Church where he was a former deacon. He was also a member of the Masonic Friendship Lodge #33 in Southington, Scottish Rite 32nd Degree in Waterbury, Calendar House, Tin Can Sailors, Sampson WWII Navy Vets, and the Southington and French-Canadian Genealogical Societies.
In addition to his wife Priscilla, he is survived by his 2 sons: Mark Landry of Southington and Scott D. Landry of Seattle, Washington.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday November 19, 2010 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 12-1pm. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
