Joseph "Hawk" Charles Jalowiecki, 84, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2016 at HCC at New Britain.
Born on December 23, 1931 in New Britain to the late Joseph and Josephine (Jedziniak) Jalowiecki, he had been a longtime Southington resident.
Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Before his retirement, he was a self-employed restoration contractor for many years. He was a longtime member of the Polish Falcon's Nest 307, Loyal Order of the Moose in Marathon, FL, the Elks Lodge in South Kingston, RI and a former member of the American Legion Post 72.
He is survived by his son Jeffrey Jalowiecki of Plantsville and two daughters, Dorian Jalowiecki of Baltimore, MD and Lauren Andrews and her husband Guy of Montpelier, VT and 4 grandchildren: Jennifer Jalowiecki of Portland; Joseph Jalowiecki of Plantsville; Meredith Andrews and Devon Andrews, both of Montpelier, VT; the mother of his children, Joanne Polli of Melvin Village, NH and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Jalowiecki and his beloved stepmother Mary Eleweski.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held before the service from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
