Joseph 'Curly' Dell, 87, of Southington, husband of the late Margaret Irene (Wells) Dell died peacefully Nov. 12, 2010 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Sept. 12, 1923 in Southington to the late Joseph and Maryann (Ibello) Della Puca he had been a lifelong resident of Southington.
He served in WWII in the 88th Calvary Recon Squadron in the European Theatre. He was carpenter for fifty years and later ran Wells Sharpening Service in Plantsville.
Joseph leaves four children: Kathleen Lindsay, Marcella Montagano, Jonathan Dell and Timothy Dell, as well as 6 grandchildren: Zachary and Amanda Montagano, Elliot Montagano, Jacqueline and Ryan Dell and Adam Dell; a sister-in-law Emily Della Puca and two cousins, Angelina Fusco and Anna Sirerol.
A Funeral Mass will be held Sat. Nov. 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00- 10:30 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
