John Palmieri, 65, of Hartford and formerly of the Planstville section of Southington, passed away at his home on June 7, 2020. John was born on May 26, 1955, to the late Angelo and Louise (Mongillo) Palmieri.
John was a graduate of Southington High School Class of 1973. He was a cherished member of the Star Tire Plus Wheels family. He was a valued employee for over 25 years, as a technician, trainer, team player and friend to all those he worked with. John loved listening to loud music, and was known as “the dude on the bicycle.” John had a happy-go-lucky attitude and was always smiling. He will be forever missed and never forgotten.
John is survived by numerous Palmieri and Mongillo cousins, including John B. Angelillo, III, and partner, Alan Nadolny, with whom he trusted to ensure his final wishes be granted and also many coworkers at Star Tire Plus Wheels of Hartford that became family, including best friend and “little brother,” Brian Gallup. On behalf of John’s family, a special thank you to Paige and Andy Weinstein of Star Tire Plus Wheels for welcoming John not only as an employee, but as a member of their family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations in John’s memory may be made to Southington Community Services or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Following John’s wishes, a graveside service will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.plantsvillefuneralhome.com.
