John S. Keller

John S. Keller, 88, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at the HOCC at New Britain. He was the beloved husband of Audrey (Kvichak) Keller for 67 years. 

John was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on January 20, 1936 to the late Stanley and Natasha (Simm) Keller. He proudly served his country in the US Navy traveling the world aboard the USS New Jersey and playing in the Navy band. John worked as a Systems Analyst for the State of Connecticut, retiring after 35 years of service. 

John stayed active in his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and was a talented wood carver. He also played the flugelhorn and the trumpet in the Plainville Wind Ensemble and different bands over the years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 72 in Southington. 

In addition to his wife Audrey, John is survived by two children, daughter, Kathleen Johnson and her husband Leland of Plantsville and son, Christopher Keller and his wife Carol of Norwich and two grandchildren, Mysti Keller and Dana Johnson.

 A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Inurnment with military honors will follow at the St. Thomas Cemetery Columbarium, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the service from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home.
