John J. Jahn, 77, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2021 after a 21-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was the loving husband of Marlea Jahn for 42 years.
John was born on March 22, 1944 in Lafollette, TN to the late George and Louise (Benzenhafer) Jahn.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and was a member of Disabled American Veterans. John retired from Pratt & Whitney after 29 years of service. He was a gourmet cook and enjoyed gardening, especially his annual harvest of hens and chicks. John loved his family and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife Marlea, John is survived by his daughter, Lynette Giles (Todd) of Carson City, NV and her 3 children; Grace, Corey and Jeremy, one great-granddaughter, Maddison and his daughter, Eileen Himmelberger (John) of Woodstock, MD. He is also survived by his sisters, Sue Ann Jahn and Helen Waggoner, both of Hendersonville, TN. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, George Jahn Jr. and brother-in-law, Robert Waggoner.
