Joanne F. Myska

Joanne (Finch) Myska, 82, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. She was the loving wife of John J. Myska for nearly 63 years. 

Joanne was born on September 22, 1942 in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Ralph Bernard and Rose (Gotto) Finch. She graduated from Plainville High School and had been a longtime Southington resident.

Joanne was a member of the First Baptist Church in Southington where she was very active over the years in children’s ministries, whether it was a trip chaperone for the youth groups, gathering Sunday school supplies, or having inspirational gifts and crafts for the children around the holidays. She enjoyed crafting, reading, watching Sci-Fi movies and for many years, she worked alongside her husband helping to upholster furniture and sell car parts at swap meets. She will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends who were just part of her extended family. Anyone who met her quickly learned of her love of butterflies 🦋, which were everywhere throughout her house. 

In addition to her husband John, she is survived by her son, John J. Myska II and his wife Brenda of Bristol and two granddaughters, Marissa Myska and her fiancé Angela Graboski and Karin Myska. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Katherine Tierney of Wethersfield.

A Celebration of Joanne’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the First Baptist Church, 581 Meriden Ave., Southington. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
