Joan F. Stefanczyk

Joan F. Stefanczyk, 78, widow of William Stefanczyk, of Plantsville, CT. died Monday Nov. 16, 2009 at the Summit at Plantsville. She was born April 14, 1931. Daughter of the late Joseph Stankiewicz Sr. and Anna S. Wolinski of New Britain , she lived in New Britain until 1962 when she married William Stefanczyk who died in January of 1993. She leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Jerry Davino and her beloved granddaughter Mariah Grace Davino. She also leaves her sister Mary Ann Pagano of Sylvania, GA, a niece and two great nephews and a great niece. She was pre-deceased by her brother Joseph Stankiewicz Jr. and her brother Ronald Stankiewicz of Columbus, Ohio. She also leaves her sister-in-law Ellen Stankiewicz of Columbus, Ohio, two nieces and a great nephew of Columbus, Ohio. She also leaves her godchild Carol (Wolinski) Mizuba and her daughter Michelle of Redono Beach, CA. Joan was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church and belonged to the Calendar House and the Polish National Alliance Group 684 of Southington, Ct.- a member of the local Chapter #4943 of AARP of Southington, CT. and the American Legion Alliance of Women. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox and UCONN Womens' Basketball. She retired in August of 1998 after working ten years for ABB Electro-Mechanics of New Britain; she was formerly employed by Weber & Marshall Attys. Of New Britain and also worked for D. Ostop CPA of Farmington and was employed at the Southington High School in her earlier years. Funeral services will be held Wed. November 18, 2009 at 9 a.m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours are (Today) Tuesday Nov. 17, 2009 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Main St., Plantsville with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours are (Today) Tuesday Nov. 17, 2009 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
