Joan S. Bryant

Joan S. (Sturgeon) Bryant, 79, of Southington died Friday October 22, 2010 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. She was the beloved wife of Henry Bryant for 57 years.

Born in Bristol on March 1, 1931 to the late Donald and Josephine (Case) Sturgeon, she was a long-time Southington resident.

She is survived by 5 children; Dale Bryant and wife Kris of Bristol, Joanne Miller and husband Ron of Alabama, Donna LaPoint and husband Darrell of Southington, Kirk Bryant of Southington, and Anita Bryant of Southington; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Donald and her sister Marjorie.

Joan worked in the Customer Service Department at Stanley Works in New Britain before retiring in 1995. She was the former President of Stanley Seniors and a Tour Coordinator for Stanley Works. She was also a long-time member of St. Dominic Church.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday October 26, 2010 at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
