Jean “Jeannie” (Peccolo) Norton, 82, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at the HOCC at New Britain. She was the loving wife of Paul D. Norton for 39 years.
Jeannie was born on March 17, 1942 in Bristol, CT to the late Anthony and Mary (DeFelippi) Peccolo.
She attended Bristol schools and worked as a commercial insurance broker in her younger years. She then took a position as a teacher’s aide in Southington Public Schools, retiring after many years of service. Jeannie was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Southington where she loved singing in the choir.
In addition to her husband Paul, Jeannie is survived by one sister, MaryAnn Swanson and husband Carl of Canton, her cherished niece, Joy Peck and husband Carter of Canton, nephew, Jonathan Swanson and wife Brandi of Farmington, and two brothers-in-law, Robert Norton and wife Alice of NH and James Norton of GA. Jeannie also leaves behind nieces, Amanda and Katie, great-nieces, Scarlett, Aubrey and Madeline, nephews, Michael and Charles, great-nephew, Taylor and several cousins nearby. She was predeceased by her sister, Angela Peccolo, her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Diane Peccolo and her sister-in-law, Mary Norton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeannie’s memory may be made to the First Congregational Church, 37 Main St., Southington, CT, 06489.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the First Congregational Church, 37 Main St., Southington. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
