Jean M. Freer

Jean M. (Mongillo) Freer, 78, of Southington passed away at her home on Thursday May 30, 2013. She had been the loving wife of John Freer for 57 years.

Born March 20, 1935 in Southington to the late Pasquale and Mary (Pelcher) Mongillo, she had been a lifelong Southington resident. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and gardening. She had an artistic background and was involved in many art projects. She will be truly missed by all of the lives she touched.

In addition to her husband John, she is survived by five sons: Patrick, Daniel, Terry, Robert and Joseph Freer and three daughters: Lynn Turner, Marcie Makles and Mary Mariani; 17 grandchildren; Otto, Kelly, Anne, Lauren, Patrick, Kristy, Caitlin, Corey, Mathew, Dean, Olivia, Alyssa, Sarah, Colin, Nathan, Joseph and Alayna and 2 great-grandchildren; Noelle and Leanna.

She also leaves behind her siblings, Marcello (Mickey), John and Pasquale (Butchie) Mongillo and Sophie Carpenter. She was predeceased by her brother William Mongillo and sisters Lucy Hunt and Marie Sposi.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
