Jean Adelaide McKay Bennett, 80, formerly of Cheshire (and Southington), went to be with her Lord Jesus on May 29, 2013 with her family by her side. Jean, born March 22, 1933, was known through her life as quiet, sweet, gracious, sacrificial, generous and compassionate. Jean was a devoted daughter who cared for her aging family members with patience and gentleness. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Raymond Bennett, Sr. for 49 years of marriage. She was a selfless mother to her nine children and an exceptional grandmother to her 32 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, remembering their birthdays, games and concerts and offering words of praise and encouragement. She was a dear friend who listened more than she spoke and sympathized but never criticized. She was a faithful believer in the Lord Jesus Christ whose Word she treasured, whose Church she served and whose presence she now enjoys in all its fullness.
She leaves her legacy of Christ-like service to her family: Christine Beaudoin and her husband Tom of Jewett City; Raymond Bennett, Jr. and his wife Diane of Cheshire; David Bennett and his wife Linda of Coventry, RI; Susan Gerace and her husband Tom of Meriden; Rick Bennett and his wife Penni of Colchester; Carol Bailey and her husband Steu of New Bedford, MA; Barbara Budd and her husband David of Cheshire; Allan Bennett and his wife Jackie of Jamestown, NY; Jim Bennett and his wife Jeanni of North Haven, and her 32 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
