James W. Mulrane, 68, died peacefully on Monday December 13, 2010 at HCC at New Britain General. He was the beloved husband of Carole (Sohl) Mulrane for 23 years.
Born on May 9, 1942 in Hartford to Helen (Balboni) Mulrane and the late Edward Mulrane, he was a longtime Southington resident. James served his country in U.S. Navy. He was a police officer for the Southington Police Department for many years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion Post 72 and he loved fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife Carole, he is survived by three daughters: Sharon Brayfield and her husband Mark of Ohio; Kelly Peasley of Plantsville and Terri Vanaman and her husband Mark of Meriden; 2 brothers: Thomas Mulrane and his wife Pam of Newtown, Edward Mulrane and his wife Barbara of Ormond Beach, FL; 4 grandchildren: Guy Racine Jr., Eric Racine, Kevin Cornwell and Brenden Peasley, and several nieces and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James may be made to the American Cancer Society Centralized Memorial Processing Center, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or American Diabetes Association, CT Affiliate, 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450.
Funeral services are being held privately. Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
