James "Jim" E. Magnoli

James "Jim" Edward Magnoli, 62, of Southington, passed away from heart complications on Wednesday October 19, 2016 after a short hospitalization. Born March 22, 1954 in New Britain, James married his high school sweetheart, Claudia Neil, and they enjoyed 43 years together and many good times with friends from Teri Court, fellow motorcyclists, and the Vumbacco/Tenny families.

Jim is survived by his son Michael Magnoli and his wife Breanna of Boca Raton FL; his brothers; Richard Magnoli and wife Rosanne and Robert Magnoli and wife Kathleen, all of Southington; sisters, Laura Dancereau and husband Dana of Westfield MA; Dianne Mathews and husband Anthony of Southington and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother, Marilyn J. Magnoli of Southington and mother-in-law Carole Neil of Harwich, MA. He was predeceased by his father John F. Magnoli, father-in-law Charles Neil and brother-in-law Eric Neil.

Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Together with his brother "Rit," he co-founded New England Liner Systems Inc., an environmental contracting firm, and spent many happy, successful years in business. Most recently, he was an estimator at D'Amico Construction Co. in Plainville. Jim saw many wonderful parts of the country on his motorcycle adventures to Alaska and the Western US. He was a father to many cats.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 23, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
