James M. Armstrong

James M. Armstrong, 54, of Plantsville, passed away on Friday Dec. 14, 2012 at his home. He was the beloved son of Marion (Boocock) Armstrong and the late Arthur S. Armstrong Sr..

Born in Southington on March 20, 1958, he had been a lifelong Southington resident.James was a Southington High School graduate, class of 1976. He was a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church. He worked as a sheet metal fabricator at MJ Emonds Mechanical in Glastonbury. James enjoyed kayaking, gardening, building metal objects and caring for his Sheltie, Chopper.

In addition to his mother Marion, he is survived by his brother Arthur R. Armstrong Jr. of Southington; 3 sisters: Patricia Tartaglino and her husband Martin Tartaglino Sr.; Jeanne Pichette and her husband Ronald of Plantsville, Lynne Armstrong of Concord, NH and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers: Stephen and Paul Armstrong.

In lieu of flowers, donations in James' memory may be made to American Red Cross, Connecticut Chapter, 209 Farmington Ave., Farmington, CT 06032.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday Dec. 17, 2012 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
