Henry J. 'Hank' Daniels, 81 of Wonx Spring Rd. in the Plantsville section of Southington died peacefully Tuesday Nov. 10, 2009 at The HCC at New Britain General. He was the beloved husband of Genevieve (Zebzda) Daniels for 55 years. Born on Dec. 26, 1927, he was the son of the late George Martin and Anna Rose (Tokarczyk) Daniel. He was a lifelong resident of Plantsville and a lifetime parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church. Henry worked as a auto mechanic for over 40 years at Meriden Auto Station, Thorton Buick and Jack Miller Buick. Henry served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he was active in the community contributing to the construction of a boardwalk on the trail at Panthorn Park alongside his son-in-law Stuart Estra. He volunteered annually at the National Trails Day Festival. Beside his wife Genevieve he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Guy Mazrek, a son Stephen Daniels, a daughter and son-in-law Joan and Stuart Estra all of Plantsville; a brother and sister-in law Joseph and Helen Daniels of Illinois; three grandchildren, Gary Alexander Mazrek, Rebecca Elizabeth Mazrek and Valerie Lynn Mazrek; many nieces and nephews and two 'grand dogs', Ginger Elizabeth and Todd Alexander. He was pre-deceased by a brother, John Daniel, sisters Julia Gladke, Esther Kowalec and Stella Daniel and a nephew Raymond Daniels. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. A funeral service will be held Friday November 13, 2009 at 10:00 a. m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial with full military honors will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Henry's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Nov. 12, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Main St., Plantsville with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial with full military honors will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Henry's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Nov. 12, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
