Helene V. Beharry-Tomlinson

September 7, 1958 — June 30, 2021

Leigh Acres, FL & Southington, CT

Helene Victoria Beharry-Tomlinson died on June 30, 2021. She was born September 7, 1958. Helene spent her childhood in a military family and loved to share stories about living in Germany and the Philippines.  After graduating high school, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy where she met her future husband, Richard Beharry.  They got married in South Carolina and settled in Southington, CT with Richard’s family upon their discharge from the Navy. Helene became a mother in 1982 to her son Richard-whom she adored. Helene was an amazing mother.

She decided to pursue Nursing after working as a CNA. She graduated nursing school and spent the rest of her life as a dedicated, selfless, expert RN. Helene was known for her selfless caring-not only to her patients but to her family and friends. She was unusually intelligent, and her soul could shine through the darkest night.

Helene was deeply cherished by her nieces and nephews. She passed on her wisdom, knowledge and love to each of them in special, personal ways. She was known for taking them on shopping sprees, beach trips and traveling. She especially loved taking her family on trips to NYC.

She was a voracious reader and seeker of knowledge. She was beautiful and a sharp dresser. Up until her last days, she always had her hair and make-up done, jewelry on and a nice outfit.

Helene loved animals and left behind her dogs, Sophie and Trina, whom she loved dearly. They were her constant companions.

Helene loved to travel and would only drive to her destinations. She preferred to travel at night and was not afraid to make long trips driving up the East coast alone.  After spending 2 decades in CT, she traveled to Arkansas, Virginia, Texas and North Carolina before settling in Florida. She enjoyed many years of life in her second marriage to Ron Tomlinson and adored her granddaughter, Aliyah.

Helene was predeceased by her mother, Tanya and her husband, Ron Tomlinson.

She left behind her previous husband, Richard Beharry, who is now deceased and her son, Richard James Beharry, who is now deceased. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Michelle Beharry, Racquel Beharry, Michael Beharry, Jr., Ernie Phillips, Kara Beharry, Amy Luponio and great-nieces and nephews, Gloriah Mills, Alyssa Beharry, Evalyn Beharry, Ashlynn Beharry, Alijah Durham, Israel Ace Reyes and Anna Gleifert, whom she shared a special relationship and love with. She also leaves behind cousins, Beth and Kathy of Arkansas and in-laws, Adrianne and Charlie Whiteside, Joe Beharry and his wife Heidi, John Beharry, Sonia Nurczyk and Michael Beharry, Sr.
