Helen Ann Zoufaly (Wysocki), 94, of Southington died Wednesday February 23, 2011 in Meriden. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Zoufaly for 57 years. Born March 24, 1916 in Meriden, Helen was the daughter of the late Dominic and Anna (Paczek) Wysocki.
Helen graduated from St. Stanislaus School. She was later employed at Manning and Bowman in Meriden where she met her 'sweetheart' Joe, married him and moved to Southington in 1939. In her early years, Helen was a devoted wife and mother. She had a passion for sewing, knitting sweaters and afghans, gardening and enjoyed cooking and baking. In her later life, Helen was employed by Allied Control-Gould Electronics for 15 years and retired in 1980.
Helen is survived by two daughters: Diane M. Feeley of Milldale and Deborah L. Briggs of Spencer, MA; four grandchildren: Dawn Chiulli and husband Frank of NY; Lisa Edwards and husband Michael of MA; Tracy Pelletier of Plantsville; Kenneth Briggs of MA; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws; Winnie and Evelyn Wysocki of Florida and Southington, and nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her daughter Jaqueline A. Nackowski; son-in-law 'son' Thomas J. Feeley; brothers Walter, Stanley, Frank Benjamin and sister Stascia Lubwicz.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St. Southington, on Saturday February 26, 2011. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Prior to Mass, calling hours will be held from 10- 10:30am at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
