Harry R. Masterbone, Jr.

Harry R. Masterbone Jr., 99, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Ingraham Manor in Bristol. He was the loving husband of the late Jennie (Orofino) Masterbone for 45 years.

Harry was born on October 11, 1925 in Bristol to the late Harry R. Sr. and Rose (Onofrio) Masterbone.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy pacific fleet aboard the USS Bolivar during World War II. He was a long-time Southington resident and worked as a Certified Public Accountant at New Britain Machine until his retirement.

Harry owned racehorses for many years and loved to watch them. He also enjoyed watching baseball with his family and depending upon the company, would happily root for the Boston Red Sox or the New York Yankees.

He is survived by three children, Harry John Masterbone and Bridget DiCosimo of Southington, Deyanne Keegan and her husband Michael of Bristol and Joanne Hunt of Torrington, four grandchildren, Matthew Keegan and his wife Kathy, Chelsea Salvatore and her husband Sean, Christina Teaman and her husband Dan and Joseph Scott and his wife Willow and 8 cherished great-grandchildren, Julianna, Alexa, Brooklyn, Shea, Joshua, Lucas, Felicity and Leland. He is also survived by his sister, Dolores “Toot” Dupont of Bristol, his close childhood friend Joseph Caminiti of Bristol and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Jennie, Harry was predeceased by his brother, Francis Masterbone and two sisters, Mickey Otto and Alice Winters.

Harry’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Ingraham Manor for their compassion and excellent care that they provided.
