Harold W. Huntley, 84, of Southington, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Bar Harbor, Maine on January 7, 1931, the son of the late Harold W. and Geneva (Smith) Huntley.
After graduating high school, "Slim" became a master tool and die maker through the Journeyman Program at Scoville Mfg. Co. in Waterbury. He worked for many years at Allied Control in Plantsville but retired in 2008 from KIP in Farmington after 28 years of service. He is best remembered for his unique sense of humor, his skills as "Mr. Fix It" and most of all for his unconditional love of his family. He was a guitar player for many years and known professionally as "Slim Huntley, the Country Gentleman."
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Tuttle) Huntley and their three children: son, Edward Huntley and his wife Mary of Oxford; son, Russ Huntley and his wife Colleen of Burlington; daughter, Adelia Rand and her husband Rob of Plantsville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister, Margaret Tibbetts of Maine. He was predeceased by his son Jude, his three brothers and two sisters. He was a member of Mary Our Queen Church in Southington.

A Mass of Christian Burial in his honor will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville. Burial will be private at a future date.
