Harold Edson Anderson, 100, of Southington passed away peacefully on Saturday March 30, 2013 at the Southington Care Center. He had been the loving husband of the late Ruth (Domen) Anderson for almost 70 years.
Born on July 6, 1912 in Southington, to the late Herbert and Josephine (Sheehan) Anderson, he had been a Southington resident all of his life.
Harold worked for Tubular Products in Southington and General Electric in Plainville, retiring in 1968. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the church council. He had been involved in several committees and was a welcoming greeter to many. Harold loved traveling to Bermuda, trips to the casino and going to the O.T.B. He enjoyed the horse races, his morning walks and gardening. He often had his picture in the local paper for his bountiful harvest. His cheerful smile and the twinkle in his eye will be missed by all.
Harold is survived by his daughter Nancy Wilson, his son James Anderson and daughter-in-law Sandra, all of Southington; two granddaughters, Deborah (Anderson) Hukill and her husband Joseph of Burlington, Ingrid Briggs of Las Vegas, NV and two great-granddaughters, Abby and Katrina Briggs of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by his brothers, Fred and Walter Anderson of Southington, sister-in-law Madeline Anderson of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Gary Wilson; two sisters Florence Witkovic and Dorothy Abetz and three brothers Charles, Erwin, and Earl Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday April 5, 2013 at the First Lutheran Church, 232 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Thursday April 4, 2013 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville.
