Gertrude (Zablocki) Fournier, 84, of Southington, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2012 at Walnut Hill Care Center in New Britain. She had been the loving wife of the late Oliver Fournier for 49 years.

Born March 19, 1928 in New Britain to the late Bronislaw and Helen (Bobinski) Zablocki, she had been a longtime Southington resident. Trudy worked for many years at Southington Bank & Trust where she was known for her welcoming smile and quick wit. She was deeply devoted to her family, most especially her grandchildren whom she lovingly cared for in her retirement.

Trudy is survived by her four children, Lori Avitabile (Larry), Marie Guest, Steven Fournier (Michelle) and Patricia Smolinski, all of Southington and ten cherished grandchildren, Larry, David, Adam, Nicole, Christopher, Jonathan, Victoria, Daniel, Olivia and Bryce who will always remember Friday night sleepovers with Pappa and Mimi. She was predeceased by her brother and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:15am on Tuesday July 3, 2012 from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with an 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
