Georgianna Sherman

Georgianna (Stephenson) Sherman, 86, beloved mother and grandmother and precious mother-in-law, of Southington, died May 25, 2012 at the Summit at Plantsville. She was the wife of the late Arthur Lucius Sherman.

Born July 9, 1925 in New Britain, to the late George and Cora (Mallory) Stephenson, she had been a Southington resident since 1955.

Before her retirement, Mrs. Sherman worked in customer service at New England Dairy and in the Southington School System lunch program. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Grace United Methodist Church and the Red Hatters. She also volunteered at the hospital. She graduated from New Britain High School, class of 1943.

She is survived by her son Kenneth Sherman and wife Marie of Bristol and her daughter Audrey Vey and husband John of Southington, with whom she made her home; three grandsons: Kenneth Sherman II, Joseph Sherman and Jeffery Sherman; her dear friend Faith Fabrizio of Plainville and two sisters-in-law, Dot Stephenson of Plainville and Nancy Houghton of Southington. She was predeceased by her twin brother, George Stephenson.

Georgianna's family would like to thank the staff at the Summit of Plantsville for their excellent care.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington. A private burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill.
