Genevieve A. "Baboo" (Zebzda) Daniels, 83, of Wonx Spring Road, Plantsville, died peacefully surrounded by her family Monday Aug. 22, 2011 at the Southington Care Center. She was the wife of the late Henry J. "Hank" Daniels for 55 years.

Born in East Hartford on Oct. 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Bonarowski) Zebzda. She was a resident of Plantsville and a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church for the past 55 years.

Genevieve was a religious woman who enjoyed going to Mass and praying the rosary. She was a loving and devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother who cherished the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed parties and holidays with her family and friends. She enjoyed her home life, her son-in-law Stuart's gardens and her daughter Joan's cookouts. In her youth, she was a New York Yankee fan but quickly saw the light and became a Boston Red Sox fan.

Genevieve is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Guy Mazrek, a son Stephen Daniels, a daughter and son-in-law Joan and Stuart Estra all of Plantsville; a brother Edward "Tony" Zebzda and sister and brother-in-law Catherine "Kosh" and Bruno Palmieri all of East Hartford, a brother Theodore O'Brien of Florida; grandchildren, Gary Alexander Mazrek (her special care giver), Rebecca Elizabeth Mazrek and fianc Jason Robert Capirchio, and Valerie Lynn Mazrek; many nieces and nephews and two 'grand dogs', Ginger Elizabeth and Todd Alexander.

She was predeceased by brothers, Frank Zebzda and sister-in-law Shirley Zebzda, John Zebzda and Joseph Zebzda, a sister Virginia Scata and brother-in-law Joseph "Pippie" Scata, a sister-in-law Wilhelmina "Billie" O'Brien and a nephew Joseph Scata.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

The family would like to thank the staff at Southington Care Center and Franciscan Hospice for their loving care of Genevieve. Also a special thanks to Marion Gifford for her help easing Genevieve's transition.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 27, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Genevieve's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday August 26, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
