Gary S. Turci

Gary S. Turci, 67, of Cheshire, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Gary was born on October 15, 1954 in Southington, one of 7, to the late Henry and Agnes (Zakrewski) Turci and had been a longtime Cheshire resident.

He graduated from UCONN and worked in retail construction project management for many years. Gary was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was a devoted member of the Southington Sportsmen's Association where he served on the executive board for many years. He enjoyed yearly summer lake vacations relaxing with his family in Maine. Gary was happiest being surrounded by his family, and beloved dogs. He was incredibly proud of the accomplishments of his 3 children and was looking forward to becoming a grandfather.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lori (Marcus) Turci and their 3 children: Joshua Turci and wife Holly of Southington; Sarah Turci-Ryan and husband Michael of Cromwell and Hannah Turci and fiancée Peter Romano. He is also survived by 6 siblings, Susan Turci and partner Gertrude Cowan of Boston, MA; Maureen Turci and husband Joseph Kleineman of Fort Lee, NJ; David Turci and wife Susan of Plantsville; Carol Langston and husband Keith of Southington; Thomas Turci and wife Christine of Plantsville; Patricia Coviello and husband John of Plantsville and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

My deep condolences to all who are mourning Gary's passing. He was the first friend I had--- we met when I was five years old and my family had just moved to Paul Heights. He was the best friend I could ask for. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Hearts are broken for your loss

For a second you were flying
Like you always wanted to
Now you'll fly forever
In skies of azure blue
We'll see your smile in every ray
Of sunshine after rain
And hear the echo of your laughter
Over all the pain
The world's a little quieter now
The colours have lost their hue
The birds are singing softly
And our hearts are missing you
Each time we see a little cloud
Or a rainbow soaring high
We'll think of you and gently
Wipe a tear from our eye

Dear Lori and family: Our hearts are broken on hearing of Gary's passing. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was one of the good guys and Billi and I are mourning with you. Please pass our feelings on to the rest of the family. I hope you remember only the goodness of Gary: what a great family man, hard worker, father and husband. Our prayers are with you.

The existential philosopher Soren Kierkegaard wrote that, in contrast to the untruth of the crowd, only the best life could be crowned with the epitaph, "That Individual." Gary earned that crown, and his character stands as his legacy, undimmable in the eyes of G-d and of those who have known him. May the Almighty comfort you, Lori, and your entire family, in this moment of sorrow.
