Gail A. Johnson

Gail A. Johnson, 64, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 20, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 14, 1951 in Southington to Ruth (Barbier) Johnson and the late Theodore Johnson, she had been a lifelong Southington resident.

Gail worked as a registered X-Ray/CT scan technician at Bradley Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. She loved to travel with friends but her greatest joy in life was her family. Gail had a heart of gold and found the best in every situation and person. Her smile lit up a room and wherever she went she left a little sparkle.

In addition to her mother Ruth, Gail is survived by her son John Tacinelli Jr. of Southington; 2 daughters: Jill Lawson and husband Todd and Jodi Topa and husband Pete, all of Plantsville and 5 grandchildren: Owen, Gabriel, Veronica, Kendal and Parker. She is also survived by her partner Ken Cole and her siblings: Karen and Steve Hammons, Doreen and Al Devin, Dave and Charlene Johnson, Elaine and Ed DellaPuca, Lisa and Rick Mirando, Maureen and Louis Wingate, Ruthann and Mark Drogosek, Peggy and Kevin Polak and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the First Congregational Church, 37 Main St., Southington. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
