Frances T. Hickman

Frances T. Hickman, 97, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 27, 2022. She was the wife of the late Wayne. R. Hickman.

Frances was born on August 13, 1924, in New Haven to the late John and Catherine (Kwieraga) Tokarczyk where she resided for most of her life. She was a graduate of Commercial High (Wilbur Cross) and contributed to the war effort by working on radar systems for B-29 bombers. She worked at Pegnataro’s and the A&P, before returning to avionics as an inspector at HARCO in Branford. She was previously an active member of the Atwater Senior Center and AARP.

Frances is survived by her son Robert Hickman and his wife Georgiane of Southington. She is also survived by a dear family friend, Margaret Horvath of Hamden, a niece, Eleanor Blossom of OH, a nephew, Patrick Steece of MO. In addition to her husband and parents, Fran was predeceased by her brothers John and Joseph Tokarczyk and a sister, Katherine Narrow.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Orchard’s and The Summit of Plantsville for the kindness and care they provided.
