Evelyn C. (Chesna) Rosengrant, 92, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2010 at HCC at New Britain General. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard V. Rosengrant for 68 years.
Born in Waterbury, March 25, 1918, to the late Michael and Mary (Yenkelun) Chesna, she had been a long-time Plantsville resident. Evelyn was a loyal member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by 3 sons and their wives; Richard M. and Caryl Rosengrant of Florida, Donald and Holly Rosengrant of Southington, and Ken and Rachael Rosengrant of Meriden; ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday October 5, 2010 at 9 am from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, with a funeral service at 10am at the Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington. There will be a reception at the church following the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Monday October 4, 2010 from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington.
