Evelyn (Sager) Nash, 99, of Southington passed away peacefully on Saturday March 12, 2011 at the Southington Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Charles Nash for 21 years.
Born April 8, 1911 in Torrington, CT to the late Robert and Pauline (Schmidt) Sager, she had been a Southington resident since 1941.
Evelyn was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Southington and enjoyed singing in the church choir for more than 50 years. She worked as a sales clerk at the former Genungs in Meriden.
She is survived by her daughter Alice Haskell and her son-in-law Robert Haskell; 7 grandchildren: Tammy Daigneault, Jeff Haskell, Kim Haskell, Sandra Field, Mark Nash, Scott Nash, and Robin McPeak; 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and her sister Alma Barth of Plainville. She was predeceased by her son Robert A. Nash and her brother Howard Sager.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 15, 2011 at 1:30pm at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the service from 1:00 to 1:30pm at the funeral home.
