Ethel E. Murchie

Ethel "Dee" E. (Woods) Murchie, 87, formerly of South End Rd. in Southington, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2012 in Florida. She had been the loving wife of the late Donald M. Murchie for 59 and a half years.

Born in Miamitown, Ohio on March 15, 1925 to the late Walter and Florence (Stevens) Woods, she had been a Florida resident since 1985.

Ethel was a bookkeeper with Inland Contracting Corp. of Connecticut for her husband over 20 years. She had a great love for golf. She was a very devoted wife, sister, mother and friend.

Ethel is survived by her son Roderick Murchie and his wife Debbie of New Jersey, daughters: Julie Griswold and her husband Scott of Tolland; Cathy Barbieri and husband Al of Wallingford and Sherry Murchie and Larry Esposito of FL; her brother Bobby Woods and his wife Marge of FL; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ethel's memory may be made to a Hospice Care Center of the donor's choice.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Oct. 13, 2012 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will immediately follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
