Emily (Hamor) (Stone) Cook, 93, of Southington, passed from this life to her Eternal rest on Monday January 5, 2015 at Southington Care Center in Southington, CT.
Born on July 29, 1921 in Torrington, CT, to the late Paul and Mary (Kupco) Hamor, she was born and raised in Torrington, lived 40 years in Goshen and had been a Southington resident since the mid- 80's.
Emily loved to sing and dance and was a member of "Goshen Players" for many years. She was a resident at Mulberry Gardens in Plantsville for over 4 years and the other residents there affectionately called her "The Dancing Lady." She enjoyed traveling and was fortunate enough to travel throughout Europe, Israel, Egypt, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Hawaii and many areas of the mainland United States.
Emily is survived by her daughter, Lillian (Stone) Tuttle of Winthrop, ME and her two sons, Thomas F. Stone and his wife Sandra of Plantsville, and Edwin W. Stone and his wife Barbara of Goshen. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Kristine (Tuttle) Fenton and her husband Joshua of Cross River, NY; Nanette (Tuttle) Danielson and her husband Todd of Avon Lake, OH; Deborah (Stone) Rosario and her husband Rolando of Plantsville; Bryan Stone of Southington and Jennifer (Stone) Grin and her husband Robert of Rowayton. She also leaves behind thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Emily was predeceased by four sisters and one brother; her first husband, Frank T. Stone, formerly of Goshen; second husband, Kenneth M. Cook, formerly of Southington and her son-in-law, Nelson A. Tuttle, formerly of Winthrop, ME.
