Ellen (Kania) Sokolowski

Ellen (Kania) Sokolowski died Thursday Nov. 19, 2009 at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley, Plainville after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Frank Sokolowski who predeceased her in 1977. Ellen was born to the late Frank and Maria Kania March 16, 1929. She was a graduate of Lewis High School and was employed at the A&P of Southington, Village Supermarket of Southington and Bristol Convalescent Home before her retirement. She is survived by her children James Sokolowski and his wife Chris, Mary Borysewicz and her husband Henry, Linda Meyer and her husband Richard, all of Southington and Francis Sokolowski and his wife Inga of Naugatuck. She also leaves her eight grandchildren: Daniel, Matthew, Joshua, Jennifer, Kevin, Melissa, Heather and Erica; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers John Kania and Walter Kania and sisters Irene Kissel, Virginia Hackbarth and Frances Kingsley. Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 24, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burrit St., Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville is handling the arrangements. The family would like to thank the great staff at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley for their compassion and great care of their loved one. Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 24, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burrit St., Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
