Eleanor (Fischer) L. Steele

Eleanor L. (Fischer) Steele, 88, of Leicester, VT and formerly of Plantsville, CT, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday July 6, 2014 surrounded by her family. She had been the loving wife of the late Donald Steele.

Born June 4, 1926 in Southington, CT to the late Robert and Martha (Coster) Fischer, she had been a longtime Plantsville resident before moving to Vermont.

Eleanor is survived by her son Richard Steele and his wife Roxanne of Leicester, VT, with whom she made her home; her sister Doris Gagne of Southington, CT and many nieces, nephews and her extended family in Vermont. She also leaves behind her special friends, Sophie Carol and Mary Jane Buxton. She was predeceased by her son Robert Steele and his wife Susan and her granddaughter, Danielle Steele, who was the light of her life.

Eleanor's family would like to thank the entire staff at Addison Home Health and Hospice, who helped to make her life bright. Also a special thank you to her daughter-in-law, Roxanne, for the special care she gave to her.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday July 26, 2014 at the South End Cemetery, South End Rd., Southington, CT. There are no calling hours.
