Elaine H. Scruton

Elaine H. (Smolinski) Scruton, 72, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. She had been the loving wife of Russell S. Scruton for nearly 50 years.

Born on May 31, 1944 in Meriden to the late Henry and Helen (Ekiert) Smolinski, she had been a longtime Southington resident.

Elaine set the greatest example of being a loving, caring wife who loved and cared for her children beyond compare. She loved to cook and talk on the phone to her family and friends.

In addition to her husband Russell, she is survived by 3 sons: Greg Scruton and Mark Scruton, both of Southington and Paul Scruton and his wife Susan of Bristol, her granddaughter Brittany Demanche and her brother, Robert Smolinski of Meriden.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at South End Cemetery, South End Rd., Southington.
