Edwin Alexander Elliott Jr., 78, of Meriden, CT, formerly of Bethany, passed away May 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Ed was born October 17, 1934 to the late Edwin Sr. and Barbara Alice Elliott in New Haven, CT, the youngest of 3 children. He graduated on the Dean's list from Quinnipiac University in 1962.
Ed served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was also a musician who had a country band for years and made a record for MGM and a solo album in Nashville. He was inducted into the Connecticut Country Music Hall of Fame. Ed was in the first CT School of Broadcasting class. During his career, he was a DJ and was a Nationwide Insurance agent until retirement.
Ed is survived by his wife Johnnie; 2 daughters, Tracey and her husband John and Christy and her husband Gary; 5 grandchildren: Michael, Steven, Sean, Karlee and Patrick; his sister-in-law, Shirley and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed was predeceased by his brother Francis (Gene) Elliott and his sister Edna Shaw and her husband Don (Buddy) Shaw.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday May 17, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 750 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Southington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Cheshire. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the church.
