Edward R. (Bob) Rabis, 76, died July 2, 2012, peacefully at home. He was a lifelong resident of Southington. Son of the late Joseph and Helen (Gladke) Rabis, pre-deceased by two brothers William and Joseph Rabis, one sister Helen Bousquet and his buddy's Kenny, Smitty (Cookie) and Al. He leaves behind a wife of 47 years, Patricia (Edele) Rabis and a daughter Ronda Rabis, along with two loving companions Zoie and Miles.
Bob worked construction for many years and enjoyed having a cold beer and BS'n with the guys. His greatest love was working in his garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He also loved fishing in the CT River, hunting in VT and that occasional trip to the casino.
Survived by two sisters, Jenny Jannetty and husband Joe, Patty Jannetty and husband Gene, a brother Mike, sister-in-laws Millie Rabis, Hanna McDonald and Joan Butler, former brother-in-law Donald Butler and many nieces and nephews.
Bob and his family would like to thank everyone who took this journey with them especially, the Hospital of Central CT Cancer Center, staff, patients and families. The family is blessed to have their wonderful neighbors and friends.
Bob's wishes were that in lieu of flowers and donations please perform a random act of kindness, give someone a hug and tell them you love them.
"A great man is one who leaves others at a lost after he is gone." All those whose lives he touched are feeling this loss now.
