Edward T. Nardi

Edward T. Nardi, 87, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the HOCC at Bradley. He was the loving husband of Vicky (Chase) Nardi for 61 years.

Ed was born on January 2, 1938 in Southington to the late John and Anna (Grimaldi) Nardi and had been a lifelong Southington resident. Ed graduated from Southington High School and went on to earn his degree in teaching from Central Connecticut State University. He taught at Joseph A. DePaolo Middle School for most of his career, retiring in 1995. Eddie was very athletic in his younger years and loved sports, especially coaching. He started coaching boy’s basketball at JAD and then took the position as the head coach for the boys Southington High School Blue Knight’s basketball team for 12 years. Ed was inducted into the Southington Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. Eddie was a huge fan of the NY Giants and the NY Yankees and a member of the Scarpa Shoda Gang. 

In addition to his wife Vicky, Ed is survived by three sons, Chris Nardi and his wife Cathy of Bristol, Jeff Nardi and his wife Dana of Southington and Ben Nardi and his wife Victoria of Chicopee, MA and eight grandchildren, Jacob, Thomas, Chase, Mason, Jaxon, Colton, Dominic and Derek. He is also survived by four nephews and their families, William Dudzik, John Dudzik, Tom Nardi and his wife Nancy and their children, William Nardi and Lea Thurman (Ryan) and Jimmy Nardi and his children, Chelsea Lautier (Jarrett), James Nardi and Thomas Nardi and his lifelong friend, Jim Salzillo. 

In addition to his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his brother, William Nardi (Thea) and sister, Angelina “Pinky” Dudzik (Franny).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at St. Dominic’s Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington, CT. Please meet directly at church. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
