Edward J. Mumley

Edward J. Mumley, 62, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 8, 2012 at the HCC at Bradley Memorial. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Herdman) Mumley for 41 years.

Born in Waterbury on June 23, 1950 to the late Garmould Mumley Sr. and Anita (Belair) Mumley, he had been a longtime Southington resident.

Edward worked as a meat cutter at Stop and Shop for 46 years. He was an avid Yankee and Giants fan; enjoyed traveling and especially loved the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by 4 children: Tracie Barden of Southington; Scott Mumley and his wife Jean of South Windsor; Tiffany Hawkes and her husband Gregory of Plainville and Craig Mumley of Southington; 3 cherished grandchildren: Brianna, Ashley and MaryCatherine and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind 4 siblings: Evelyn Bernier, Barbara Minnix, Rita Mumley and Joseph Mumley. He was predeceased by 5 siblings: Bettyann Giovacchino, Bernadette Cyr, David Mumley, June Pauquette, and Garmould Mumley Jr..

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday October 15, 2012 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington.
