Dorothy Pierson Hubeny Ph.D.

Dorothy Pierson Hubeny Ph.D., 68, of Southington passed away at her residence on Monday August 8, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Andrew F. Hubeny Jr. for 28 years.

Born May 18, 1943 in Rockford, Illinois to the late Charles and Helen (Wisniewski) Pyzynski, she had been a longtime Southington resident.

Mrs. Hubeny was the Dean of Students at Naugatuck Valley Community College.

In addition to her husband, Andy, she is survived by her two daughters: Anne Miller and her husband Christopher of NY, NY, Elise McDermott and her husband Paul of Middletown CT., one son, Jeffe Hubeny of New Britain CT; two sisters Kathy Bourgeois of Louisiana and Pat Ostrowski of Illinois and five grandchildren: Kelly, Klair, Colleen, Spencer and Griffin.

Funeral services will be held Friday August 12, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church, 249 Savage St., Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours are Thursday August 11, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
