Dorothea "Thea" Nardi

Dorothea "Thea" Nordstrom Nardi , 79, of the Plantsville section of Southington passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Apple Rehab Farmington Valley. She was the wife of the late William Nardi.

Born Nov. 11, 1932 in Southington to the late Arthur and Matilda (Nelson) Nordstrom, she had been a lifelong Southington resident. Thea worked as a home companion for the VNA for several years and was a past president of the Southington Garden Club.

She is survived by her two sons and their wives; Thomas and Nancy (O'Hala) Nardi and James and Jacqueline (Verrone) Nardi all of Southington; five grandchildren: William, Lea, Chelsea, James and Thomas Nardi. She was predeceased by several siblings, including her beloved sister, Doris "Dodo" Knap.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Plantsville, CT. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Wed. April 18, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
