Dorothea "Dottie" B. (Gade) Dickinson, 96, of the Plantsville section of Southington, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at Apple Rehab Coccomo in Meriden. She was the loving wife of the late Henry R. Dickinson for 63 years.
Born in Meriden on January 22, 1919 to the late Richard and Clarice (Nevin) Gade, she had been a Plantsville resident since 1952.
Mrs. Dickinson worked as the school lunch director for the town of Southington for many years. She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Southington. She also served as matron of the Eastern Star in Southington.
Dottie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Judy Dickinson of Meriden and Gary and Linda Dickinson of North Haven, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John Gade of Meriden and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Lawrence Gade and Norman Gade and her sister Clarice Knowles.
