Donald F. Dunlop Sr.

Donald F. Dunlop Sr, 84, of Southington, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Don was born on August 5, 1937 in Provincetown, MA to the late John and Hilda (Sants) Dunlop. He spent many years living in Fairhaven and had been a longtime Southington resident.

Don proudly served in the U. S. Air Force in Labradore, Newfoundland on a U. S. Radar Facility. He was a huge NY Yankee and Giants fan, loved Christmas and all animals, especially his family pets; Marli, Maddie, Bad Boy and Noelle. Don loved his family and was happiest spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by 5 children; Donna Riccio and her husband Joseph of Estero, FL; Donald F. Dunlop Jr. and his wife Joanne of North Haven; Philip Maiorano and Paul Moore of Hamden; Christopher Dunlop of New Haven and Dawn Piscatelli and her husband Robert of Cheshire and 11 grandchildren; Jason, Justin, Rick, Nicole, Philip Jr, Anthony, Patrick, Meghan, Danielle, Matthew and Stephen. He was predeceased by his former wife, Vivian Maiorano.

A funeral service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Calling hours will be held before the service from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
