Donald “Don” R. Aube, 84, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at HOCC at Bradley. He had been the loving husband of MaryAnn (Sargalski) Carroll.
Donald was born on December 29, 1938 in Hartford, CT to the late Felix and Anna (Durkin) Aube. Donald attended Hartford Public Schools and in 1956, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, receiving basic training at Camp Lejeune. He proudly served in the Middle East and was the Colonel’s private chauffeur, receiving an honorable discharge in 1958.
Upon his return home from the service, Don attended trade school where he earned his certification to be an electrician. Don worked as an electric wirer at Pratt & Whitney for 33 years and then at Edmund’s Manufacturing Co. for 17 years, retiring in 2009. Don was friendly with everyone he met, always smiling. He loved all outdoor activities including tennis, fishing, skiing, hiking and archery.
In addition to his wife MaryAnn, Don is survived by 2 sisters, Marion Coon and Theresa Lavoie, one brother, Robert Aube and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Felix and Anna, he was predeceased by 2 brothers, Thomas Aube and Duane Aube.

A Mass of Christian Burial, followed by military honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held before the service from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
