Dolores "Dell" L. Peterman

Dolores L. Peterman, 94, of St. Petersburg, FL and formerly of Southington,  passed away on July 17th, 2023. Dolores was born May 3rd 1929 in West Haven,  CT. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Thomas H. Peterman. She leaves behind 3 daughters; Lyn Fenton (Gary Fenton), Laura Duksa (Kyle Henzler), and Patricia Palazzo (Assunto Palazzo). She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; Ryan Duksa (Arianna), Kelly Cyr (Michael), Cory Duksa, Paul Hurst (Shannon) and Michael Palazzo (Caitlin Bosco), and 7 great-grandchildren, Ava and Eli Duksa, Ashton and Christian Cyr, and Harlie and Jessie Hurst and Rowan Palazzo.

Dolores was affectionately known as "Dell" to her friends and family. Dell enjoyed spending time with her beloved husband and their three children. They loved boating and being on or near the water. Their favorite spots in and around the Long Island Sound were Three Mile Harbour, Greenport and the Connecticut River. They retired to become Florida snowbirds after living in Southington 50 plus years. Dell decided to stay full-time after she lost her husband. She lived with her daughter, Laura Duksa in South Pasadena, Florida for the past 11 years. Dell enjoyed the Florida sunshine and spent a lot of time on her deck watching the marine animals. She truly enjoyed her TV westerns like Gunsmoke and Rawhide. Her favorite movies which she would watch over and over were the John Wick series. Dolores was overjoyed to become a great-grandmother in 2019 and was blessed to have 5 more beloved great- grandchildren thereafter. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. A memorial service will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Plantsville Funeral Home 975, S. Main St., Plantsville.
