Deborah L. (Roberts) Mariani, 60, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Midstate Medical Center. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
Deborah was born on March 26, 1962 in Hartford to the late Stanley and Jacqueline (Jacques) Roberts.
She graduated from Mary Immaculate Academy and went on to proudly serve her country in the U.S. Navy from 1981 – 1984. Deborah worked as an educator at the American Red Cross for the last 15 years. She had an adventurous spirit, a kind and caring heart and a positive selfless attitude. Deborah loved camping, hiking, day trips to the beach, exploring State and National Parks and traveling, especially her trip to Italy. Most of all, Deborah loved her family and adored her grandchildren.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 42 years, Arnold Mariani, 4 children; David Mariani and his wife Kimberly, Bethany Alonso and her husband Miguel, Joel Mariani and his wife Kara and Brittany Appellof and her husband Kyle and 7 cherished grandchildren; Riley, Lucas, Gabriella, Sofia, Luis, Noah and Lyla. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Donna Fielding (Bernard), Paula Guerrette (Brian) and Lisa Egan (Donald), 2 brothers, Stanley Roberts (Samantha) and Scott Roberts, sister-in-law, Tracy Lennon and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Steven Roberts and Denise Roberts.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial St. Dominic’s Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial with military honors will follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
