David W. Patterson

David W. Patterson, 64, of Southington passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday October 10, 2013 at the HCC at New Britain. He had been the loving husband of Christine (Gladchuk) Patterson for 40 years.

Born November 9, 1948 in Hartford to Nancy (Clark) Patterson and the late Daniel W. Patterson, he grew up in Bristol and had been a longtime Southington resident.

David worked as an engineer for WFSB- Channel 3 for 41 years and was a former one-time President of his Union NABET-CWA. He was a master of electronics and was able to repair anything. David loved motorcycles, cars, being outdoors and hunting, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His charisma and the exceptional way he interacted with people will be truly missed. His memory will live on through the traditions he passed down to his four sons.

In addition to his wife Christine and his mother Nancy, he is survived by his four sons: David C. Patterson and his wife Natasha; Daniel W. Patterson and his wife Lori; Christopher M. Patterson and Andrew M. Patterson, his grandson Daniel James and his grandson-to-be, David Alexander. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Daniel Patterson and Joel Patterson, both of Bristol; his two sisters, Nancy Lee Hauze of AZ and Betty Jean Patterson of Bristol; his mother-in-law Mary Gladchuk of Southington and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday October 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington.
